This position requires basic skills to inspect, install, repair, adjust, construct, modify, calibrate, program and wire most electrical and electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits of any voltages in the plant or assigned area. The individual will also assist in design and/or service of most types of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, electro-mechanical equipment. The job also requires basic troubleshooting skills and understanding PLC’s and VFD’s for equipment automation. The individual will help ensure that all equipment performs well within all safety and OEM specifications.
Working Conditions Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1.1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
1.2. An Electrical Certification or technical degree in Industrial Electrical Maintenance and repair preferred but not required if OJT and sufficient work history experience can be validated. Pre-employment testing may be required.
1.3. Ability to read documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure/equipment manuals as well as electrical schematic drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to communicate effectively with co-workers.
1.4. Spanish as a second language would be beneficial but not required.
1.5. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
1.6. This job requires the ability to run conduit, cable tray, wiring and perform terminations.
1.7. Knowledge of general manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
1.8. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with Microsoft Office programs and preferably some exposure to PLC Development software; Electrical Design software; Internet software; Order processing systems and Project Management software.
1.9. Individual must have some knowledge and hands-on experience with PLC’s, VFD’s and communication systems. Should have some experience with ladder logic and basic troubleshooting skills with equipment software language. Previous experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens equipment is preferred but not required.
1.10. Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.
1.11. Read, write and speak English in a clear and effective manner.
2.1. Maintain a good working relationship with Operating personnel in order to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
2.2. Responsible for the electrical maintenance of machinery and equipment within the facility.

2.3. Analytically troubleshoot and resolve electrical malfunctions back to OEM Specifications.
2.4. Routinely check the performance of electrical equipment and perform assigned PM’s.
2.5. The employee is responsible for maintaining maintenance records, inspection reports, and processing Work Orders.
2.6. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
2.7. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
3.1. Attend and participate in Line-Out meetings to communicate daily activities between incoming and outgoing Maintenance shift crews.
3.2. Make necessary equipment repairs during the shift to maintain equipment availability for production.
3.3. Complete Maintenance shift reports and corresponding paper work.
3.4. Participate in production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers as it pertains to equipment reliability and availability.
3.5. Perform required Daily; Weekly, Quarterly and Annual check sheets as established by the Maintenance Department and O.E.M. suppliers.
3.6. Prepares reports, forms, records and related paperwork for assigned area.
3.7. This position may require operating a Forklift, Overhead Crane, Manlift and/or Carry Deck.
3.8. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.9. Other duties as assigned.
- Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop an operation if he/she deems it necessary, for reasons of imminent safety and/or possible equipment damage. However, he/she must notify the Operations Supervisor on duty and follow the established notification procedure if the interruption is for an extended time period.
