The Regional Head Finance & Controlling is responsible for managing the financial performance of all projects in tesa North America region. The key duties include creating proper cash flow and financial planning, analyzing and driving the company’s financial strengths, overcoming weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. This role will be the “co-pilot” to the President and Regional Manager of tesa North America and the regional leadership team, pushing for the optimization of regional sales and Return on Sales by appropriate resource decisions towards different departments, liaising with internal and external parties, gathering and analyzing financial data, producing financial statements, plans and forecasts, and sharing relevant reports to the regional executives. This role must also perform audits and assessments, review financial contracts and transactions, and develop tools and systems to optimize operations.

This role also has a dotted line to the Group CFO of tesa being a part of the global leadership team.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Drive accountability for financial results across regional functions through insightful reporting and analysis. 
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team to develop and execute business strategies. 
  • Support regional sales optimization and return on sales through effective resource planning. 
  • Lead a high-performing finance team delivering accurate forecasting, planning, and actionable insights. 
  • Represent finance as a key contributor to regional strategy and global leadership initiatives. 
  • Oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting. 
  • Manage audits, internal controls, and financial risk assessments across North America. 
  • Lead forecasting and budgeting cycles, including variance analysis and performance tracking. 
  • Ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and Mexican financial, tax, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate closely with auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, and government agencies. 
  • Support day-to-day business operations through efficient financial planning and analysis. 
  • Develop tools and processes that enhance visibility and operational effectiveness. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including cost control, pricing optimization, and ERP (SAP) utilization. 
  • Provide financial modeling and scenario planning to support strategic growth initiatives. 
  • Lead working capital management initiatives and maintain strong banking relationships. 
  • Oversee indirect procurement strategies to drive cost-effective purchasing practices. 
  • Provide leadership to administrative functions, including IT and Legal, to ensure operational efficiency. 
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team. 
  • Drive a culture of accountability, professional development, and succession planning. 
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to align financial goals with organizational development. 

 

 

Qualification Required:  

  • 10+ years of experience across Accounting, FP&A, Controlling/Commercial Finance, within  multinational companies. Chemical industry experience preferred.  
  • Exceptional excellent analytical , problem solving and communication skills with extensive experience in working with senior management  
  • Advanced understanding of U.S. Accounting Standards, IFRS and closing/reporting process.  
  • Strong experience leading and developing high performing teams.  
  • Strong formal and informal leadership skills, comfortable managing expectations across functions and regions within a matrix organization. Proven leadership capabilities in driving improvement and change.   
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking and time management skills.  
  • Proficiency with MS and Financial systems (SAP).  

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Master’s degree or above in accountancy , ideally with further internationally recognized  qualifications such as CPA/CMA 
  • Experience working cross-functionally across a global organization.
