About You:

The accountant is responsible for owning components of the monthly close process, technical accounting research/documentation, and the preparation of internal and external financial reporting. This role will also be involved with supporting FINRA & SEC compliance deliverables as well as supporting all financial and tax audits.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accounting close processes.

• Ensure compliance to current revenue recognition principals (ASC-606) – prepare deferred revenue waterfall(s) and reconcile them to the ledger.

• Independently prepare comprehensive account reconciliations and journal entries.

• Perform analytics on financial results to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.

• Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues as they occur in a timely manner.

• Help manage annual PCAOB audit.

• Support all sales and income tax reporting.

• Ensure all sales tax returns are filed promptly and accurately.

• Support all sales and/or income tax inquiries and audits as they arise.

• Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packages for Corporate.

• Assist in any other audits throughout the year.

• Continuously seek ways to optimize existing accounting and business processes through use of automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching industry best practices.

• Assist with the documentation and maintenance of corporate accounting policies.

• Remain current with GAAP updates and key changes.

• Complete any Ad-Hoc projects that are assigned.

Education/experience:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance

• CPA license preferred but not necessary

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in public accounting with audit & audit workpaper experience OR

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a public company’s internal audit dept OR

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a public company accounting department supporting PCAOB audits

• Excellent knowledge of accounting & financial principles (U.S. GAAP) and how business decisions impact financial statements

• Excellent working knowledge of current revenue recognition standards (ASC-606) and ability to apply them

• Experience with supporting annual, independent, financial audits, chiefly PCAOB audits

• Strong understanding of AP and AR processes and their impact on financial reporting and cash management

• Strong analytical skills with superior attention to detail

• Experience with monthly close in an ERP system (NetSuite preferred)

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

• Experience with FINRA and SEC filings preferred.

• SaaS, FinTech or Technology industry experience preferred

• Ability to work as a team player building positive and effective relationships with partners, peers and management

• Works well independently

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface will all levels of an organization is required.

• Highly motivated, hands on personality.
